AE Staff
The Architectural Engineering Staff is the backbone of our Department.
They will handle any question, problem, or concern that you may have about our program.
Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
- Manage the Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables for the Engineering Copy Center.
- Assist the Administrative Aid in the management of the Department's and Engineering Copy Center's financial accounting.
- Enter data on the Department's data collection system. Develop and produce reports relevant to budget expenditures.
- Prepare and process all University expenditure forms using IBIS, FIT and Data Warehouse.
- Oversee the receipt and processing of all monies received in the Department.
- Coordinate faculty, staff and student travel; serve as liaison with travel agencies.
- Manage departmental VISA purchasing card transactions.
- Initiate and process all documentation required for Wage Payroll employees.
- Maintain expenditures and balances on standing orders.
- Manage Department's petty cash funds.
- Maintain inventory and initiate orders for computer and office
supplies.
- Disseminate AE program materials.
- Maintain all student records (UG, MS, PhD).
- Admissions processing.
- Registration, drop/adds, class lists, etc. using AIS system.
- Process grade cards, deferred grades, change of grades, petitions Compile and enter instructional activities data on AIS system.
- Verify student graduation requirements and advise students of problems or deficiencies.
- Maintain degree audit reports.
- Approve bachelor degree requirements (BDR) and department substitutions regarding degree.

- Assist students with advising procedures and PSU policy.
- Assign and update advisor lists.
- Administer Student Teaching Rating Effectiveness Evaluations (SRTE) each semester.
- Coordinate student/parent campus visits.
- Responsible for scheduling AE courses each semester.
- Schedule classrooms.
- Serve as department liaison between AE Co-Op Coordinator, students and Engineering Co-op office.
- Associated clerical support to Undergraduate and Graduate Program Officers.
- Develop and compile material for various graduate and undergraduate statistical reports.
- Clerical support for AE faculty.
- Receptionist for the AE Department.
- Staff Support for the Consortium for the Advancement of Building Sciences (CABS).
- Staff Assistant for the Architectural Engineering Career Fair and Career Fair database.
- Assist companies wishing to employ for full and part time position - arrange interviews, room scheduling.
- AE web page development and maintenance for AE department, Indoor Environment Center, Aerobiological Engineering, Computer Integrated Construction Reserach Program, and faculty web pages.
- Staff Writer/Editor: Research, prepare and compile articles for the AE Newsletter and other departmental publications.
- Staff support for ABET and curriculum materials.
- Edit technical papers, interim and final reports for funded contracts, monitor deadlines.
- Edit reports, manuscripts, etc. for faculty and graduate students.
- Compile and prepare yearly consulting reports for faculty.
- Compile AE course proposals and coordinate with College of Enginering.
- Schedule appointments and maintain Department Head's calendar.
- Associated administrative clerical support.
- Coordinate AE Senior Recognition and Awards Banquet.
- Assist with the Architectural Engineering Career Fair.
- Arrange guest lectures and seminars.
- Alumni activities and other professional visits.
- Coordinate/assist with housing arrangements for visiting professionals to the AE Department.
- Co-Editor for the AE Newsletter.
- Assistant to the Editor of the Journal of Architectural Engineering
- Supervise assigned clerical staff.
- Prepare and process student scholarships and awards.
- Assist faculty with preparation of Promotion and Tenure dossiers.
- Coordinate arrangements related to prospective faculty searches.
- Compile information for various periodic and special reports.

Technical contact for AE Department's computer network. Install computer equipment and software.

Assist with management and development of AE Department laboratory spaces for research and instruction, including maintenance, repair, and service of equipment.

Coordinate and assist in conducting in-class laboratory demonstrations. Act as technical consultant regarding experiment design and application.

Supervise the activities of assigned staff and students. Provide training to faculty, staff and students in the use of laboratory equipment.

Assist with conduct of funded AE Department research projects. Participate in design and execution of experiments and analysis of data.
