The Office of Graduate Studies, Research, and Outreach (OGSRO) serves the needs of more than 1,500
graduate students and more than 360 faculty and researchers. It administers more than $92 million in
research expenditures annually, nearly one-third of which are funded by industry. College of Engineering
faculty, staff and students conduct research in departments and programs throughout the College, in more
than 50 College centers, and in collaboration with more than 15 departments and centers across Penn State.
The College continually strives to strengthen its core disciplines in engineering and engineering sciences and
to increase its efforts in the development and dissemination of fundamental knowledge and processes.
