The Engineering Cooperative Education and Professional Internship Program allows students to enhance
their personal and professional development through multiple terms of paid, progressive, career-related
experience in business, industry, and government, alternating with semesters of classroom study. The program
provides students and employers with a variety of personal development and corporate recruiting opportunities,
including Fall Career Days, an annual four-day event attended by more than 400 employers and 7,000 students.
Penn State's Engineering Co-op Program, one of the largest optional co-op programs in the country, places more
than 700 students each year with some 300 employers. Co-op students currently work in more than 30 states and
in seven foreign countries.
