The more than 70,000 Penn State engineering alumni worldwide include practicing engineers, engineering educators, business and government leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, doctors, and lawyer. Many participate in the Penn State Engineering Society (PSES), an alumni group open to all engineering alumni. PSES sponsors the annual Penn State Rube Goldberg Machine Contest, the PSES Faculty/Staff Awards, and a student résumé review day in conjunction with the fall career fair.

The College's annual Outstanding Engineering Alumni (OEA) Awards Program honors exceptional alumni accomplishments, and the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC), a department-focused group, meets annually to provide advice to the dean, department heads, and faculty.
