FULL-TIME RECRUITING

Employers seeking engineering students for full-time positions are encouraged to post these jobs in multiple electronic posting systems. The two main resources for employers are eCareer, maintained by the Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations office, and Nittany Lion Career Network, maintained by university-wide Penn State Career Services. On-campus interviewing is arranged by Engineering Career Resources staff in conjunction with Career Services. Employers wishing to recruit full-time architectural engineering students should contact Dr. Kevin Parfitt or Ms. Nancy Smith.

CO-OP & INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Engineering Co-op & Internship Program at Penn State is one of the top five largest optional short-term work programs in the nation. More than 700 students complete co-op and internship assignments each year in business, government, and industry settings across the country and around the world. CAREER FAIRS

To recruit engineering students, we recommend that employers consider attending one or more of the following career rairs at Penn State:

  • Spring Engineering Career Week is jointly sponsored by the Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations office and the Society for Women Engineers (SWE) and is held in February. More information is available on the Engineering Career Resources & Employer Relations site.
  • Architectural Engineering Career Fair is sponsored by the Department of Architectural Engineering. Contact Lori Smith for more information.
  • Civil Engineering Career Fair is sponsored by the Penn State student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Go to Penn State ASCE for more information.
  • Fall Career Days are held in September. This is the largest university-run career fair in the nation, with opportunities available to students in most majors across the University. Don't miss it!
  • Spring Career Days are held in February or March. Companies catering to both technical and non-technical majors are represented at this event
