REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS: To receive maximum consideration for available scholarship funds, you are encouraged to apply for or renew your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year at www.fafsa.gov. Students who have completed the FAFSA form will automatically be considered for college merit-based and need-based scholarships.

NOTICE FROM THE OFFICE OF STUDENT AID: If students or their families have experienced a loss of employment that has affected their financial situation but is not reflected on the FAFSA, they should notify the Office of Student Aid by calling 814-865-6301 after they have been unemployed for at least 10 weeks, have submitted the FAFSA, and have received their aid award notification.

Financial Aid

The College of Engineering is not directly involved in any matters of financial aid, such as student loans, federal and state grants, or work-study. All applicants to the University, regardless of location, should refer to the Office of Student Aid for that information. The College does administer endowed and corporate scholarships for engineering students based on criteria including major, interest, merit, and financial need.

For many donors, one of the most rewarding experiences of establishing a scholarship in the College of Engineering is learning how their generosity has impacted the recipient’s life. For tips on writing a meaningful thank you letter, go to Thank You Letter Guidelines.

Special Scholarships

Go to Special Scholarships for Current Students for the most up-to-date listing of special scholarships. These are corporate, University, College of Engineering, or department scholarships that require an application process. Scholarships will appear on this page as they become available for application. Please check back often. This site will be continuously updated and scholarship information will be automatically removed after the application deadline.

General Scholarships for Continuing Students

All students in the College of Engineering are automatically considered for general scholarships after they complete at least two semesters at Penn State. No applications are required for these awards. Scholarships to continuing students are awarded on the basis of the cumulative grade point average earned at Penn State. The Undergraduate Scholarship Committee will consider all continuing students regardless of their major and will disburse scholarships that are not specific to any major.

Students in a Major

Each department in the College of Engineering is responsible for awarding scholarships that are designated for students in a major. The following departments require an application for scholarship consideration:

For other majors, students should contact the department office for scholarship criteria and availability of funds.
