The DOE Scholars Program offers unique opportunities that introduce students or post-graduates to the agency?s mission and operations. Participants in the DOE Scholars Program gain a competitive edge as they apply their education, talent and skills in a variety of scientific research settings within the DOE complex. Appointments are available in a variety of disciplines at participating DOE facilities nationwide.
U.S. citizenship, and 16 years of age (no exceptions).
Undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate of an accredited institute of higher education. Exceptions may be made on academic status on a case-by-case basis for summer appointments only.
Terms of Award:
Being selected as a DOE Scholar offers the following benefits:
--Career possibilities with the nation?s leading sponsor for scientific research
-- Opportunities to learn from top scientists and subject matter experts
-- Stipends of up to $650 per week (depending on academic status)
--Travel arrangements to and from appointment site
During the application process you will be asked to provide the following:
Your resume must be converted to a .pdf or .rtf file. You will then upload the resume by following the directions in the online application.
References and Transcripts
References and all official undergraduate and graduate transcripts may be required as part of the interview and selection process. You will be notified if additional information is needed.
You may wish to prepare the 2 required essays in a word processing program that will allow you to copy them into the online application. There is a 6000-character limit. The questions are:
Describe your academic interests and career goals.
Discuss your career aspirations and how the DOE Scholars Program may enable you to achieve your goals.
Describe any personal, professional, or educational experiences or situations that you feel have influenced your interest.
