General Motors WRN Scholarship

Purpose:

The GM Women?s Retail Network (WRN) Dealer Development
Scholarship Program is offered to help increase the number of
women pursuing careers as a general, executive or
departmental manager; or, an owner/operator of an
automotive dealership.

Eligibility:

To be considered for a GM Women?s Retail Network Dealer
Development Scholarship, a student must meet all of the
following criteria:
--Must be female
--Must possess a high school diploma or GED
--Must be able to verify enrollment at the beginning of
the 2012 fall term
--Must be a citizen of the United States or have the
ability to accept permanent employment in the US
without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the
future
--Must be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or
non-traditional educational institution that offers
formal programs or certifications in automotive retail
and/or automotive service;
OR,
Currently employed in an automotive dealership and
enrolled in an educational institution that offers
formal programs or certification

Terms of Award:

A limited number of scholarships will be awarded for the academic year in amounts up to $5,000.

-- Submit two (2) recommendations -- one from each
of the following categories:
-- Past/current employer, academic
instructor/school official or
community/civic leader on official
letterhead.
-- GM dealership representative (owner,
operator, manager). NOTE: See GM Dealer
Recommendation section on page 5 of the
application form for more details. A listing
of GM dealers may be found at:

-- Include or request to have sent an official
transcript from your most recent educational
institution.
-- You must forward a copy of your Student Aid Report
(SAR) including your Expected Family Contribution
(EFC) from the information you provided on your
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
-- Sign the last page of this application.
-- Mail completed application to the WRN Dealer
Development Scholarship Program at the address
on page 5 of the application form.
