Summer Research Opportunity for Undergraduate Students (REU)
Provide high-quality state-of-the-art research experience.
Develop independence, creativity, and interest in physics and astronomy graduate study.
Demonstrate how academic knowledge acquired in classes relates to real-world research problems.
Develop and strengthen practical research skills.
Encourage participation by women and minorities in research.
Participants must be full-time undergraduates, typically finishing their sophomore or junior years. Applications from underrepresented groups are particularly welcomed. Application is restricted to US citizens or permanent residents.
Terms of Award:
The summer program will run from June 1 through August 7. Time-critical first and last week activities and summer housing limitations preclude other start and end dates.
To apply for our Summer program:
Fill out and submit the on-line application form. Make sure to follow the guideline to write your personal statement.
Submit recommendations by two faculty members who have agreed to write recommendations on your behalf. Provide this link http://solar.physics.montana.edu/reu/faculty_recommendation.html to your references who should submit their recommendations on-line before the application close date.
