Faculty travel grants from the Global Fund are intended to stimulate the development or enhancement of
international education. The request should address one or more of the following:
- support activities and exchanges with the University's key and strategic linkages;
- encourage new partnerships emerging from departments and/or individual faculty;
- support teaching or research collaborations with faculty from other countries that will
involve undergraduate or graduate students;
- stimulate participation in international teaching or educational initiatives from Federal and State
agencies;
- assist faculty who want to develop course materials that have an international component;
- provide seed monies to enable faculty to gain funding from other sources for international
educational programs.
NOTE: Funding for faculty travel to research conferences or for research purposes that
are not related to internationalization of educational opportunities will no longer be provided from the Global Fund.
PROCEDURES
- Faculty member completes Global Travel
Cost Share Form
- Matching funds and original signatures must be obtained prior to submitting to the Office of
Undergraduate Studies
- Request is reviewed by the associate dean for undergraduate studies
- Notification letter (approved or denied) is sent to faculty requesting funds, with a copy to
the department head, administrative assistant and staff assistant responsible for budget processing
- Within two weeks after returning, the faculty member is required to submit a brief summary
report—one paragraph that includes the date(s), title and location of the meeting or conference;
purpose of the trip; outcomes of the activities; any follow-up action
