Purpose:

In 2005, ANS awarded the first ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarships. This level of scholarships was created for graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled, full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or intent to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering. ANS will give up to five, Incoming Freshman Scholarships, annually.

Eligibility:

The Scholarships will be awarded based on an applicant's high school academic achievement, freshman college courses enrolled in, quality and content of 500-word essay, letters of recommendation by counselors and/or teachers, and other information.

Terms of Award:

Each award is $1,000.

Please Submit:

To apply for the ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship, complete the special application form and return it with appropriate documents to ANS headquarters by April 1. Recipients will be notified by April 30. The scholarship award will be sent in September to the recipient upon verification (a copy of the paid fee receipt) of enrollment in an accredited university or college.
