FIRST Scholarship: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology

Requirements:

Any senior on a FIRST TEAM in High School

Purpose:

This is an official recognition of the knowledge and technical and life skills students have gained from participating in a FIRST competition. FIRST scholarships enable students to pursue majors and careers in engineering, computer science, aeronautics, and many other technical fields.This FIRST scholarship is sponsored by the Penn State College of Engineering

Eligibility:

US Citizen
Student must be a high school senior and
Participate on a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team or
on a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team.

The candidate selected to receive this award must:
1. satisfy all requirements for admission to Penn State, completing
the application and enrollment process
2. remain a full-time student and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumGPA
in the College of Engineering

Terms of Award:

$2,500 annual scholarship is renewable for up to four years, and has a total value of $10,000. The award will be disbursed in the amount of $1,250 for each semester, not to exceed 8 semesters.

Please Submit:

1. Penn State FIRST Scholarship application and
2. Complete a 250 word essay: What does World-Class Engineer mean to you? How FRC contributed to my education and words of encouragement for others competing.

Attach the application and essay to an email, and send it to coe@engr.psu.edu.
