the Leonhard Center
The Leonhard Center for Enhancement of Engineering Education was
established in 1990 by an endowment from William and Wyllis Leonhard.
The Center strives to enable the key changes that are required to maintain
a world-class engineering education at Penn State. It supports
innovative faculty and students by providing them with an environment
where ideas are exchanged and grown, and also provides resources to
implement those ideas. Leonhard Center initiatives focus on the
enhancement of courses and curricula as well as assessment of the
effectiveness of innovations. Because of the cross-disciplinary and collegial nature of the Center,
individuals are actively supported by a rich variety of partners, ranging
from first-year students to design engineers to successful entrepreneurs
and CEOs.
