'Green with an Attitude' focus of Nov. 11 Hankin Lecture
University Park, Pa. — Ron Jones, internationally renowned pioneer in the green building movement, will present "Green with an Attitude!" at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Nittany Lion Inn Boardroom.
The event, part of the 2009 Hankin Distinguished Lecture Series, is free and open to the public. A reception will be held immediately following the presentation.
Jones is an award-winning builder, architectural designer and the only person ever to serve on the national boards of directors for both the U.S. Green Building Council and the National Association of Home Builders. He is the founder of Green Builder LLC, an award-winning building and design company dedicated to environmentally appropriate construction. Jones is also the co-founder of Green Builder Media, LLC, a leading development, education, consulting and media organization in the progressive real estate industry.
Recently, Jones was appointed to serve on the Sustainable Building Technology Committee to develop a set of comprehensive and adoptable green building regulations, titled International Green Construction Code, which will be published in early 2012.
The Hankin Distinguished Lecture Series, where world-class speakers are invited to Penn State to address students and faculty, was established in 2006 in honor of the late Bernard Hankin.
