Penn State offers one of the widest varieties of engineering majors and minors found anywhere in
the United States. This means that there are many opportunities to find a major to fit your interests.
Your education can be broadened with a minor, a dual degree, study abroad, and/or co-op positions
while you earn one of the most highly respected engineering degrees in the country.
What makes our college truly special, in addition to this broad range of engineering programs, is
the community of friendly people here who care about you and your success. The curriculum is challenging,
there's no doubt about that, but you'll have plenty of help. Within our college, we have created a strong,
caring support network—we call this network Student Services—to help when you need
it.
Beginning with your first year, your engineering courses will emphasize developing practical skills
through hands-on projects—many of which are suggested by our industrial advisers and partners. You'll
find a productive and creative learning environment here, where you can develop not only the technical
and problem-solving skills engineers need, but also the "people" skills (teamwork, communication, and
leadership)—necessary for success in your future career.
We look forward to meeting you and having you join us!
