Special Housing Options

Special housing options are a great way to meet friends with the same interests and coursework, find out more about engineering and engineering careers, and benefit from academic and social programs. Participation in the academic and social activities is expected of all residents of these special housing options. Housing options are typically located in designated floors or sections of a residence hall and programming includes things like tutoring or social and career development activities. Placement is based upon 1) student application and 2) the rules and practices that apply to that housing option.

Although a variety of options are available throughout Penn State, the options covered here are engineering-related and available at University Park. To explore options at University Park that are not engineering-related, go to Special Living Options at Penn State. Students who are attending campuses other than University Park should contact Housing & Food Services for information about the campus of choice. For more detailed information on housing options in general, refer to the Engineering Special Housing Options Brochure. Answers to frequently asked questions regarding College of Engineering housing options are available at Special Housing FAQs.
