Engineering Research

John M. Mason, Jr.,
associate dean for graduate studies, research, and outreach

The Office of Graduate Studies, Research & Outreach (OGSRO) serves the needs of more than 1400 graduate students and 285 faculty and researchers. It administers more than $89 million annually in research expenditures, nearly one-third of which is funded by industry. Faculty, staff, and students in the College of Engineering conduct research in departments and programs within the College, in more than 50 College centers, and most importantly, in collaboration with more than 15 departments and centers across Penn State.

As we look to the future, the College of Engineering will continue to strengthen its core disciplines in engineering and engineering sciences. Building on these foundations, we will increase our efforts in the development and dissemination of fundamental knowledge and processes.

John M. Mason, Jr., Ph.D., P.E.

Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, Research, and Outreach
