1. SPSEE Trifold - Ray Lunnen

Ray took the initiative to investigate and develop a prototype SPSEE trifold modeled after the PSES trifold.  To do this, Ray had to research and distill the objectives of the SPSEE and place them into easy to read and understand words and phrases.

Ray spoke with Cindy Jones and Lori Clark about some of the wording and what it would take to print these trifolds as official Penn State documents.  Cindy suggested not using the phrase "non-alumni" and instead use the word "friend".  Due to costs, the initial design will be a two color brochure.  Business Reply cards cost $0.60 each time they are used.  Ray explored University Printing Services and tried to use a picture of campus on the front, but with only two colors, it did not copy well.

Ray's goals:  (a) Cheap, (b) Simple, (c) Information to use, and (d) Use existing documentation to develop the wording.

Early estimates for this design are $100.00 for 500 copies.  Basically, black and white xerox copies on a thicker quality paper.

Suggestions by the SPSEE Planning Committee members as to the wording and use of fonts (Helvetica for the titles, and Times or a serif font for the body text), and use of the recent winning SPSEE logo design for the front were incorporated.

Overall, the SPSEE Planning Committee welcomed Ray's design and congratulated him on his efforts.  Thanks Ray!
