Penn State's Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is one of the most active professional organizations on campus. There are activities almost every week of the school year which are both social and professional in nature. The ASAE, the Society for Engineering in Agriculture, Food, and Biological Systems, is a
not-for-profit worldwide professional and technical organization of members interested in
engineering knowledge and technology for food and agriculture, associated industries, and
related resources. ASAE coordinates educational opportunities such as technical sessions,
workshops, conferences, and tours at ASAE and other Society meetings withthe purpose of
communicating new research results, discussing applications, and stimulating debate on
important topics related to the collection of renewable resources and the processing of these

The Student Chapter of the American Society of civil Engineers (ASCE) is a professional society for all students enrolled in civil engineering and freshmen and sophomores interested in civil engineering. This organization was established to expand the college experience for students in civil engineering and aid in establishing the professional contacts that are so valuable to the practicing engineer. Student Chapter members hold offices, secure speakers for Chapter meetings, participate in the Concrete Canoe races and Steel Bridge competitions, visit engineering works, attend professional meetings, present papers, and keep abreast of professional activities through ASCE publications. These activities stimulate early professional consciousness and prepare students for entry into the profession and into the American Society of Civil Engineers.

(Honor Society) Omega chi Epsilon is the Honor Society for Chemical Engineering students. Membership is by invitation from the officers of the Chapter to outstanding undergraduate students, and is based on the academic achievements of those students. Membership entails active participation in a variety of projects aimed at improving the academic performance of Chemical Engineering undergraduates and encouraging students to consider entering graduate schools. A prime example of this support is free tutoring, which the Chapter provides in lower level Chemical Engineering courses. The time and place of such tutoring services is posted each semester on the Omega Chi Epsilon bulletin board.

The Cooperative Education & Professional Internship Envoys are currently made up of 25 students at University Park, at other Commonwealth Campuses, and students who are on work assignment. Participating students represent several majors and have completed at least one co-op, internship, or international experience.
The mission of the Envoys is three-fold: -Promote the programs supported by the Cooperative Education & Professional Internship Program to students, faculty, and employers through volunteerism at events and programs supported by the College of Engineering and the Cooperative Education & Professional Internship Program
- Act as a student advisory council to the Cooperative Education & Professional Internship Program regarding new initiatives, policy changes, program marketing, etc.
