The Engineering Advising Center has information about a variety of resources and programs available
at University Park to help students with academic, physical, mental, emotional, financial, and social problems,
to name a few. Information is also available about special programs, policies and procedures, tutoring,
supplemental instruction, skill development, medical resources, psychological treatment, etc. Students may
stop in, call, or e-mail an adviser for any information.
Students at locations other than University Park can obtain information about the same type
or similar programs from the Advising Center at their location. The DUS Coordinator and the College of Engineering
Contact and Referral Representative at each location are also good sources for such information.
TUTORING
Students at locations other than University Park should inquire about tutoring services at
their location.
At University Park, tutoring, supplemental instruction, reviews, problem solving sessions, etc. may
be offered by departments, University offices, service organizations, fraternities, sororities, programs, etc.
Listed below are the resources and services used most commonly by students in the College of Engineering at
University Park. There is no guarantee that the list is complete and changes may occur without notice.

The University Learning Centers, located in 220 Boucke Building,
7 Sparks Building, and 102 Wagner Building (pending), manage the following centers and programs:
- Study Skills—learn strategies on how to become more proficient with notetaking,
reading comprehension, test taking, and time management. Go to

- The Technology Center (7 Sparks, 863-4392)—workshops and help with software.
- The Math Center (220 Boucke, 865-1841)—tutoring in courses up to Math 200.
- The Undergraduate Writing Center (219 Boucke, 865-1841)—tutoring in writing and
in stages of the writing process.
- The Tutoring Center (220 Boucke, 865-1841)—free assistance in selected math, chemistry,
and physics courses.
- The Teamwork Center (220 Boucke, 865-1841)—work areas with a computer and whiteboard
may be reserved for groups of up to six students to work on projects, assignments, or presentations
for classes.

Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, provides tutoring in
