General Education Classes Within Architectural Engineering
Students are required to take 18 credits of General Education courses. The 18 credits are distributed into three categories: Arts (GA), Social Sciences (GS), and Humanities (GH). The typical credit pattern is 6-6-6 . Students are permitted to take 9 credits in one category and only three in one other category, or a 9-6-3 pattern.

Arts (GA)
The GA courses in the Architectural Engineering curriculum are prescribed. These courses satisfy the GA requirement and the Department requirement for architectural design theory. Arch 210 and Arch 211 are typically scheduled in the third year.
Economics (GS)
All students in the College of Engineering must complete one course in economics. Typically FTCAP advisers will enroll the student in Econ 2 (micro-economics) or Econ 4 (macro-economics) for the first semester at University Park. Students at Commonwealth Campus locations may be offered Econ 14 (micro and macro).
