Description

Overview of recent research thrusts in building construction, qualitative and quantitative research techniques, assessment methods for existing building construction research, investigative proposal preparation and presentation methods.

Prerequisite(s)

5th Semester Standing.

Course Objectives
  1. Develop a working familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods, and the skills for critical evaluation of existing research
  2. Develop and obtain feedback on undergraduate or graduate level research project on a subject of current relevance to the building construction industry
  3. Identified key contacts and references that will assist in the completion of this research
Topics
  1. Qualitative and quantitative research methods and examples of data gathering and analysis methods for applied and exploratory research project
  2. Recent research trends and topics in building construction and industry perspectives on key challenges facing the building construction market
