AE 538 - Earthquake Resistant Design of Buildings (3 credits)

Description

This course covers:

  • Introductory engineering seismology
  • Basic principles of structural dynamics
  • Application of earthquake design provisions of model building codes to design of buildings
Prerequisite(s)

AE 403, AE 430, and AE 431.

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of damaging aspects of earthquake phenomenon an dhow to analyze and design buildings to satisfy model building code provisions.
