AE 552 - Air Quality in Buildings (3 credits)

Description

This course will cover indoor pollutants, their sources and health effects, transport of pollutants, and modeling of pollutant concentration in buildings.

Prerequisite(s)

AE 454, AE 455, and ME 412

Course Objectives

The goals of this course are to provide students with an understanding of 1) indoor air pollutants, their sources, and their health effects, 2) current criteria, standards and guidelines, for indoor air quality, 3) methods for analyzing and modeling the transport of air contaminants within buildings, 4) technology for controlling air quality and its system-level application with consideration for performance and energy use impacts.
