AE 597G - Building Information Modeling Execution Planning

Description

This is a special topics course which is focused on an ongoing research project aimed at the development of a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Execution Planning Guide.  This guide is targeted toward owners and early project team members with the goal to assist them in the selection of appropriate BIM technologies along with the development of an execution plan for implementing appropriate BIM technologies on a project. 

 

Prerequisite(s)

A working knowledge of the design and construction industry will be needed to participate in the class discussions and to perform the assignments. 

Course Objectives

The goal for this course is for students to learn the application of Building Information Modeling on Architecture/Engineering/Construciton (AEC) projects and within AEC companies.

Topics

The course is not focused on any one technology or on training for various BIM applications.  Students will be exposed to various computing tools, but the focus of the course is on the selection and implementation strategies related to the technologies, not the training on these technologies.
