Ph.D. Curriculum

The curriculum for a doctoral student's program will preliminarily be determined by the student and his/her adviser for the first year or two of study. Upon formulation of the student's doctoral committee, the complete full program of courses is then dictated by the committee.

Architectural Engineering guidelines indicate that a Ph.D. program consist of approximately 30 credits of coursework beyond the masters degree, with at least 24 at the 500-level. A maximum of 9 credits may be through independent study (AE 596). The exact courses and number of credits required of the student are set by the committee.

To graduate, a student must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average in his/her coursework
