B.A.E./M.S. Degree*

*Available only to students in the Schreyer Honors College.

University Scholars may elect to perform an integrated B.A.E./M.S. program through the Schreyer Honors College. In this case, the honors thesis would be the M.S. research thesis. This research would generally be conducted during a sixth year of study in the AE program. A student would complete the undergraduate senior project (AE 481/482) during the fifth year, and conduct his/her graduate research (AE 600) during a sixth year of study.

In this situation, the student would be eligible to receive a graduate research assistantship during the sixth year that would cover full tuition and a stipend to cover living expenses. Awards such as these are generally provided through research grants received by faculty. Students are encouraged to discuss these opportunities with their AE honors adviser, if they are considering this program.

Applications must be submitted to the Schreyer College in the 6th, 7th or 8th semester of the AE undergraduate program.

More information on this program can be obtained at www.shc.psu.edu/currentscholars/iug.
