First Year Students

  • Be sure you take a First-Year Seminar. AE124 is recommended but you may select from other offerings. If AE124 is closed, you should sign up for another FYS. Please let Sharron Williams know that you are interested in taking AE124 should openings come up. sewarc@engr.psu.edu

This event is designed specifically to inform first year students interested in Architectural Engineering. Student representatives from the technical student organizations and the AE Envoys are hosting this event. Come take advantage of their expertise. The time of the event was move back to allow you to take the Chem 12 exam first. We will wait for you. Good luck!

Second Year Students and new to AE students

  • Arch130A should be taken as a fall-spring sequence. If you have a conflict, please see Sharron Williams (225 Engineering A) to work out a solution. We can work around some of the time conflicts. It will be inconvenient for you to schedule around the studio periods in later years.
  • AE 221 and AE 222 are co-requisites. Take them in the same semester.

Third Year Students

  • Take AE310, 311 and 372 in your third year. You will be selecting an option in the spring. These courses are designed to give you an understanding of each option.
  • AE372 are only offered once a year during the Spring Semester.
  • Prerequisites; Please make sure you have the right prerequisites.
    • ME23 for AE310
  • Several of the 300 level courses must be completed with a C or better - AE308, AE310, AE311, AE372.
  • If you missed taking AE308 in the fall, you may register for CE340 in the spring to catch up. (The course is currently full. Keep trying.) CE340 is only 3 credits. While it satisfies the requirement for AE308, students taking CE340 must make up the missing 4 th credit with a Department Elective credit. A petition is required after the course is completed.
  • If you are thinking about going to the Leeds study abroad program,
    • Do not take Arch211 in the spring. You will get this course in Leeds . Please sign up for one of the courses below in its place.
    • If you are thinking about the Lighting/Electrical option, sign up for AE444 in the 6 th semester.
    • Stat401 is suggested for students in other options.
    • The new time for the meeting for the Leeds Study Abroad program is Thursday night, 3 November 2005, 9 pm, 107 Engineering A.

MAE/BAE Students

  • If you are expecting to graduate this semester, you must activate you "intent to graduate" status on e-Lion.
  • Your undergraduate degree audit will be missing some credits. See Sharron if you need to check that they are indeed recorded (on the graduate records)

  • If you are getting Minor, go to the department offering the minor and fill out the necessary paper work. Don't wait till the last minute.
  • Best wishes to you all.
