Unless notice is given prior, P drives carry from year to year.

Y:\ drive - public storage. Notification may be given at 90% capacity. Lockout will occur at 100% which means files may be deleted but not saved.

All users are allotted 1 GB. All files will be deleted from the Y:\ drive one week after every semester.

All files on the Y drive are available to all users! If there are concerns about other users seeing your files, you can a)Store them on your P drive, or b)Read about how to secure files on the Y drive and make them accessible to only the people you want to have access here.

O:\ drive - software. CDs and software can be installed to wireless personal laptops and grad PCs, as well as student home PCs.

Profiles:

Profile storage includes roaming desktop shortcuts, favorites, wallpaper...etc. To see how much space you have left, double click the "Profile Size" icon in the Start Menu to display profile total size and file sizes.

To decrease your profile size:
Go to My Computer - C:\Documents and Settings\Username (e.g. pab125)
Then go to Tools-Folder Options-View-Show hidden and system files and folders
All folders in your profile should be visible. Delete files from cookies, my documents, history, temp internet folders...etc. Files should not be saved in the default 'My documents' location or on the desktop, this increases your profile space and network logon time. Use your P:\ drive instead of My Documents. To limit the amount of disk space, go to Internet Explorer-Tools-Internet Options-General-Temporary Internet Files-Settings.

Printing:

Printing credits for each user for each semester are as follows. Grads and 5th yrs have $40. 4th through 1st yrs have $20. The initial printing credit is issued after the first print job of each semester. If you haven't printed anything, you won't have a printing balance.

Printing credit can be purchased in 101 Engineering Unit A, Engineering Copy Center from 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. You can click here to see an online printing balance status page.

Printing balance will not be refunded, and does not carry into the following academic year! Do not purchase more credit than you plan on using by the academic year's end. For example, credit purchased in October 2008 will carry into April 2009. However, no credit will be refunded at the end of the Spring semester, regardless of when it was purchased, or how much was lost. Purchase accordingly!
