The 2002 PACE
Roundtable was held on November 5-6, 2002 at the Penn Stater Conference Center
Hotel on Penn State’s University Park campus. The PACE Roundtable is an
opportunity to discuss critical industry issues, as well as exchange ideas and
lessons learned with fellow industry leaders and students.
This year we made a special effort to include owners and design professionals
in the event to discuss: “Engaging Owners in the Building Process.” The
focus was on timely and specific topics of current interest to members of the
building industry. The main discussion topics, identified by the PACE
Advisory Board, were:
- Project Delivery - Refining RFP and Contract Award Processes
- Green Team Building - Strategies for Green Building and LEEDS Projects
- Managing Risk - Insurance Strategies and Risk Assessment
- Technology for Teams - How Project Teams Can Capitalize on CAD and IT
Nearly 50 industry participants comprising owners, architects, engineers, and
contractors attended this year’s event as well as AE 5th year
students, graduate students and faculty. Students will conduct research on the
topics raised during the discussion and present their results at our PACE
Research Seminar on April 23-34, 2003 in Washington, DC. |
