AE Newsletter - Fall/Winter 2003
The 12th annual PACE Roundtable was held on Nov. 4-5, 2003, at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on Penn State’s University Park campus. This event is a forum for interaction and exchange of ideas between industry, students and faculty.

The theme for the 2003 Roundtable was “High Performance Teams and High Performance Buildings.” The PACE Advisory Board selected several areas of interest for discussion including:

· Lessons Learned on LEED Projects

· Design Management versus Construction Management

· Commission and Start-up Strategies

· Virtual Design and Construction

· The Role of Construction Organizations on Green Projects

· Techniques and Incentives for Engaging Team Members

· Indoor Air Quality and Mold Risk Management

· Implementing New Technology in the Construction Industry

Nearly 50 industry participants comprising owners, architects, engineers, and contractors attended this year’s event as well as AE 5th year students, graduate students and faculty. Students will conduct research on the topics raised during the discussion and present their results at the PACE Research Seminar on Apr. 21-22, 2004 at the Toftrees Resort in State College, PA.
