Louis and Judy Geschwindner Endowed Scholarship
AE Newsletter - Spring/Summer 2001
My fellow AE alumni,

We have the opportunity to honor someone who has made a difference in our lives. Please join me in contributing to the Louis and Judy Geschwindner Endowed Scholarship, which has been established and funded by the Geschwindner’s. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to undergraduate AE students who have demonstrated a high level of academic performance. As an endowed scholarship, it will provide scholarships in perpetuity.

Now in his 35th year, Dr. Louis F. Geschwindner, Jr. continues to serve as teacher, advisor and friend to the students and graduates of the Penn State AE Department. The superb Penn State AE reputation is a credit, in no small part, to Dr. Geschwindner’s dedication and tireless effort. Who among us has not been motivated by his enthusiasm?

Dr. and Mrs. Geschwindner’s commitment has already been matched with a pledge from the structural engineering firm of Rathgeber/Goss Associates of Rockville MD, as a result of the generosity of principals Eric Rathgeber, Mike Goss, and Gary Strand (’82). Except for Eric and Mike, all of the engineers in this firm are Penn State AE’s: Craig Johnson (’88), David Bernhardt (’92), Brian Hsi (’98), Scott Higinbotham (’00), Monica Rufrano (’00) and Robyn Brown (’01).

Your contribution should be sent to Dr. Richard G. Swails, Director of Development, Penn State College of Engineering, 101 Hammond Building, University Park, PA 16802. Please make your check payable to Penn State University, and specify that your contribution should be directed to the Louis and Judy Geschwinder Endowed Scholarship in Architectural Engineering.
