Indoor Environment Center (IEC) Advisory Board Meet at Penn State

IEC Meeting

On May 25-26, 2006 the Indoor Environment Center Advisory Board and the IEC faculty/staff and graduate students met at the Hintz Family Alumni Center to review that past year and plan for the future. Dr. William Bahnfleth, director of the IEC, opened the meeting with a progress report highlighting the nearly $2 million of externally funded research on indoor air quality, efficient lighting, and building security conducted by the center since its creation in 2005. Board members in attendance included Ronald Bielinski, Gary Debes, Jim Kendig, Dan Kerr, Dan Nall, Dennis Stanke, Lynn Werman, and John Wimer.For more information about the IEC, please visit the IEC web site at: www.engr.psu.edu/ae/iec

IEC Guest Lectures

Dr. Shinsuke Kato, director of the Center for Development of Instrumentation Technology and professor at the Institute of Industrial Science of the University of Tokyo gave a guest lecture for the Indoor Environment Center on “Recent Developments in Indoor Air Quality Control” on June 21, 2006.

Dr. Agami Reddy, visiting IEC scholar, also presented to the Indoor Environment Center. His presentation, held on Jan. 18, 2006, was titled “A Scientific Methodology for Calibrating Detailed Building Energy Simulation Programs.” Dr. Reddy is professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering at Drexel University.
