Triangle Men of the Century Award
Gifford Albright, ‘53 was a recipient of the Triangle
Men of the Century Award at the July 14, 2007 National Convention of Triangle
Fraternity held in
Indianapolis, Indiana. Triangle is a Greek social fraternity comprised of engineers,
scientists and architects. The award is intended to honor individuals for their
outstanding professional success, continued dedication to their profession and
community, and unrelenting loyalty to the Triangle Fraternity family.
Albright pledged the fraternity in his senior year at Penn State. Following graduation, he has been an active alumnus for over 50 years. He served 10 years on the chapter alumni executive board, including positions of president and chapter advisor. In addition, he served a four year term on Triangle’s national council.
He remains active in chapter operations as an ad hoc executive board member,
and routinely attends alumni functions. He has served as a mentor and advisor
to many fraternity members. In 2006, the local chapter of the fraternity honored
Albright with the Penn State Triangle Distinguished Alumnus Award, a new Honor
bestowed upon only a handful of alumni.
