Preliminary Information

To go to Leeds...

  • You must have a 2.5 GPA!
  • You must have taken the following classes BEFORE you go:
    • AE 308
    • AE 309
    • AE 310
    • AE 311
    • AE 372
    • AE 401

While in Leeds...

  • Arch 211 - Do NOT take this course in the 6th semester at UP
  • Arch 441 - Required credits for all four options
  • AE 402 - Required credits for all four options
  • AE 430 - Required credits for structural option and Department Elective for other options (petition required)
  • AE 497 (English culture, history and architecture) - Arts (GA) credits and requires petition for 9-6-3
  • GI credit for study abroad (petition required)
  • Lighting option students will take AE 461 via the Internet while in Leeds

Steps necessary for PSU AE 4th year undergraduate students studying in Leeds to apply for the integrated B.A.E./M.A.E. Program...

  1. Complete the appropriate "M.A.E./B.A.E Worksheets"
  2. Draft a letter of intent: A short piece on why we should accept your application and how you think the graduate education will help your career. Address the letter to: The PSU MAE Admissions Committee.
  3. Send items 1 and 2 to the graduate student records secretary at aeinfo@engr.psu.edu, the 3rd Friday of October. You can submit these electronically. You need NO letters of reference or copy of your transcript.
  4. Apply to the PSU Graduate School electronically from the following link--item 8 and pay the $45 registration fee: http://www.engr.psu.edu/ae/application/graduate.asp
  5. You will be notified of the outcome in several weeks. Students participating in the Leeds Exchange Program will not receive their fall grades until later during spring semester. Therefore, students with a GPA less than 3.5 should only expect to receive provisional admission.
