Eligibility & Prerequisites

ELIGIBILITY

The summer program in Rome is open to all regularly enrolled Penn State architectural engineering students. Applicants must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.50, be in good academic standing and show evidence of maturity, stability, adaptability, self-discipline, and strong academic motivation.

The summer program is not for students interested in a vacation in Rome. The work load is very heavy, as you will earn 12 credits in only 7 weeks. Students may extend their European experience through personally arranged travel after the conclusion of the program.

PREREQUISITES

Though no formal prerequisites are needed to enroll in this program, it is recommended that students interested in studying in Rome take a couple architecture classes to get some background knowledge in the field of architecture. Also consider some additional readings and web sites of interest.

Student participants must participate in all informational and instructional sessions during the academic year at University Park. THese sessions are considered part of the academic requirements. Failure to participate in these sessions may result in the student being withdrawn from the program and at the student's own financial disadvantage.

Information about the program will be distributed via a list-serv. You must belong to this list. Please email Moses Ling at mosesling@psu.edu to join the list.
