Adam Kroll's Biography

Adam Kroll is currently a student in Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University with a specialization in Lighting and Electrical design. Adam grew up in Oakland, New Jersey, in the northeast corner of the state. Interested in science and engineering from an early age, Adam attended a magnet high school for engineering and design. At Penn State, Adam began his education in Civil Engineering but later switched to Architectural Engineering for its greater creative opportunities. The lighting option turned out to be the perfect mixture of science and art.

Adam has spent his last two summers working in the lighting industry in New York City for Jaros, Baum and Bolles. JB&B is a MEP consulting firm that also has a small architectural lighting department. Adam had the unique opportunity to work both with lighting designers and electrical engineers on a variety of large projects, including the new World Trade Center.

At Penn State, Adam has been involved in Alpha Rho Chi, the professional co-ed architecture fraternity. Involvement in the fraternity has given Adam the opportunity to travel and meet many people in the profession from all over the country. Holding positions including Vice President and Publicity Chairperson, Adam has increased his leadership and teamwork skills. Currently in his fifth year at Penn State, Adam plans to graduate in May 2008 with a B.A.E.
