User Note:

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Christopher Nicolais. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

The Senior Thesis class and project allowed me to merge the tools and knowledge I have learned throughout my academic career. Engineering courses as well as public speaking and technical writing all came together throughout the various project associated with both AE 481W and AE 482. I enjoyed having the freedom to work at my own pace form a majority of the year, while have due dates also kept me progressing through all my classes.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

The CPEP is a great tool to give people access to all the hard work each student does throughout the year. Creating and maintaining a website, although not the most flashy, is a skill that anybody can benefit from. The ability to just have a forum where information can be uploaded and then read by anyone, especially curious family and friends makes the CPEP page worthwhile. The discussion boards are also a serve a very important function for students who choose to seek the knoweldge of all those professional who are willing to contribute their time to aid in our engineering development. I found that quick and easy answers to small design and code issues were provided by those who participated.
