User Note:

While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Derek Bauer. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

Senior Thesis Reflection

Senior thesis (AE 481W and AE 482) was a very worthwhile experience of my undergraduate studies at Penn State. It allowed me to strengthen my communication and time management skills through interacting with industry members and working hard to meet project deadlines. I enjoyed being able to analyze an existing project with new ideas for improvement of design or construction changes, which is a very relevant practice of the construction industry.

CPEP Reflection

CPEP was utilized to effectively communicate information and coursework to faculty and industry members. With very little previous experience in designing web pages, the initial design in creating the page was a bit challenging. Discussion boards were also a valuable tool to gain feedback from industry members on questions me or my fellow classmates had.

I would like to thank everyone that made this thesis project such a positive experience for me through their help and support along the way.
