 Doug Boswell

Doug Boswell is currently a 5th year Architectural Engineering major at Penn State University.  He hopes to graduate in spring 2008 with an integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree in the mechanical option.  Doug is a 2003 graduate of Camp Hill High School in Camp Hill, PA.     


Doug has studied in Rome, Italy for the summer of 2006 in the Sede Di Roma program offered by the Architectural Engineering department.  As a part of the program, he also studied in the cities of Florence, Venice, Pompeii, and Paestum.   Doug is hoping to return to Europe upon graduation for a trip through a few additional countries.        

 
Doug has been a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) for 3 years, and he is the treasurer for 2007-08.  Doug likes to stay busy with intramural sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball, and dodgeball.  Doug also has an interest in volunteering.  He has participated in two straight spring break trips to New Orleans to help the ongoing Katrina relief effort and is hoping to do the same this spring break.  Doug also helped to build a solar home in Lame Deer, MT this past summer as a part of the American Indian Housing Initiative (AIHI).       


Doug passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in spring 2007, and will have Engineer in Training (EIT) status upon graduation.  He will pursue a career in mechanical/HVAC engineering as he builds toward the Professional Engineering (PE).

Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants.
