Terminal 3 Exterior

Jason A. Witterman

Jason is a fifth year student in the Architectural Engineering program at The Pennsylvania State University.  His focus is in the mechanical option, and he will graduate in May 2008 with a Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering.  In addition, he will also be receiving an Architecture Studies Minor.

During the summer months, Jason has completed several internships.  His internship experience began in 2003 when he worked as a mechanical drafter for Karpinski Engineering in Cleveland, Ohio.  Further internships were completed at Karpinski Engineering, with additional responsibilities and experience being gained throughout the next 3 years.  In the summer of 2006, Jason participated in a 7 week study abroad program in Rome, Italy.  This opportunity allowed him to study ancient architecture while also gaining an appreciation for other cultures.  In the summer before his fifth year, Jason worked as a mechanical intern for JBA Consulting Engineers in Las Vegas, Nevada.  During this time, he worked on a new terminal at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.  The chance to work on projects of such a scale has given him a new perspective on the design process, and he hopes to be involved in more large scale projects after graduation.

While at Penn State, Jason works as a teaching assistant within the Architectural Engineering Department.  This fall he is working with students in AE 202, an introductory AE course.  In the spring he will once again work with students in AE 309, a third year architectural acoustics course.  Jason is also the current Vice President for the Penn State ASHRAE Student Branch.

Upon graduation, Jason will receive E.I.T. status and intends to work for an engineering consulting firm, where he can gain the experience necessary to become a licensed engineer.
