User Note:

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Justin Purcell. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design

Course Reflection:

This senior thesis has provided valuable real world experience in our fields. The work we completed this academic year will be very similar to the work we will be doing in our full-time jobs. Thesis has prepared me for the tasks and challenges ahead of us. I obtained an extensive knowledge of steel composite buildings and CIP concrete structures. Also design of braced frames and moments frames for lateral resisting members were analyzed in further detail for enhanced knowledge.

CPEP Reflection:

The senior thesis portfolio was a great way to keep track of assignments, tasks and due dates. Without the online portfolio, I can guarantee some assignments would have been forgotten or missed.

Discussion Board Reflection:

The discussion board was extremely useful tool. It is a link to the experience and knowledge of professionals that have been handling the problems that arise during senior thesis for many years. The discussion board should be used in the future years for the AE Senior Thesis Program.
