KEVIN'S BIO/RESUME

Kevin M. Danna graduated from Thomas Mckean High School of Wilmington, Delaware in the Spring of 2003, before beginning his collegiate studies in the Fall of that year. As a freshman he studied at the Penn State Altoona campus, receiving high marks and a slot on the Dean's List. Successful in meeting the rigorous criteria, he earned the rare privilege of transferring early to the University Park campus in sophomore year for admittance into the Architectural Engineering program. He is currently pursuing the Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with expected graduation in May of 2010.

A musician since childhood, Kevin was a member of the Penn State Marching Blue Band for three years, playing the bass drum at home football games, parades, and bowl games, a demanding schedule at nearly 20 hours a week. He was also involved with the jazz and pep bands at Penn State Altoona.

Kevin interned with Pettinaro Company of Newport, Delaware a major developer in the Mid-Atlantic region during the summers of 2006 and 2007. At Pettinaro, he worked full-time with the in-house architecture department, primarily as a draftsperson and architect's assistant. This internship provided him with excellent computer-aided drafting skills and an overall understanding of how buildings are designed and constructed in modern practice. Kevin went on to intern at C.M. Kling & Associates, Inc. a small architectural lighting design firm located in Alexandria, Virginia during the summer of 2008. Although a small firm, with one principal and two associates, C.M. Kling & Associates, Inc. is well respected with major projects in the D.C. metro area, the Atlantic seaboard and across the globe. The scale of the projects and the nature of the small firm has provided Kevin excellent exposure and experience with world-class lighting design.

Having enjoyed his summer internship, Kevin went on to work full-time for C.M. Kling & Associates, Inc. while completing his thesis. He has been at the firm for almost a year now as an assistant lighting designer and has been heavily involved in numerous projects with principal Candace M. Kling, IALD/IESNA, and associates Andrea Hartranft, IALD/LC, and David Ghatan, LC. Projects involved with include convention centers, federal government buildings, embassies, university housing, airports, museums, corporate offices, and houses of worship, among others. Kevin remains a phenomenal asset on projects of great diversity due to his first-class education and experience gained at The Pennsylvania State University, along with a strong well-rounded background in the arts and sciences.

Kevin sat for the Lighting Certification (LC) exam on November 8, 2009, and passed. As a result of his succes, Kevin has been awarded the title Intern LC, meaning that he possesses a vast general knowledge of the lighting industry. He expects to become a full LC by the beginning of 2011.
