While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Christopher Ankeny. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.

ABET OUTCOME SURVEY

AE481
The first semester of thesis coursework was very challenging, but more rewarding, in the sense that it forced me to be familiar with all aspects of my project and construction issues. This semester was very technical in regards to the areas of construction, but it also took into account certain design criteria. This semester of work also got students introduced to contacting project managers and relevant subcontractors in efforts to extract information. The provided deadlines were useful for proper time-management and the CM faculty, when available, were knowledgeable and helpful.

AE482
The second semester of thesis coursework broke away from the structured setting that the fall semester had implemented. This provided a more independent atmosphere of education and addressed the need for students to recognize their responsibilities and time allotted to their thesis work. The progress schedules were a good setup in the fact it made us plan out our semester and think of critical activities that needed to be completed. The breadth studies are also valuable and provided concepts that I believe every Construction Manager should have. However, it was wearisome when certain faculty members would not respond to e-mails and this subsequently made situations a lot more stressful. My fellow students proved to be the most helpful asset.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection
The discussion board participants were beyond helpful except for the Construction panel. A lot of the posts, not all, went unanswered and this fact was upsetting. The CPEP is very useful and is helpful in the organization of the past years work.

Overall…
Overall, I really feel that the past year was a positive and eye-opening experience. The feeling of accomplishment at the end of my presentation was indescribable...not just for myself, but for my friends/classmates who accomplished the same feat. I truly feel that the past year, along with the accumulation of tools over the past five years, has helped to prepare me for my future engineering career.

general description...

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web‐based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year‐long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
