About Landon Roberts

Landon Roberts is currently in his fifth year of the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State concentrating in the Lighting/Electrical Option. He will be graduating in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and minor in Architectural Studies. His interest in travelling gave him the opportunity to study abroad in both Rome, Italy and Madrid, Spain.

Landon had the opportunity to intern in both an electrical design firm as well as a lighting firm. In his internship with Integrated Design Associates, Inc. in 2004, he was exposed to the stringent design criteria of Title 24 and introduced to the new concept of green building and sustainable design. His experience at The Lighting Practice over the summer of 2007 included work with a team to develop design ideas for a historical building aiming for LEED Platinum certification as well as on-site retrofit analysis of the Empire State Building.

Landon is involved in various aspects of The Pennsylvania State University. His involvement with the Greek Campus Crusade for Christ organization led him to join the Alpha Rho Chi Fraternity, Inc., for architecture and the allied arts, where he finished his term as president and is now the student advisor. His involvement with the greek community also gave him the opportunity to work with the Fraternity and Sorority Life Judicial Board as a student representative. After entering the Lighting and Electrical option of the AE program, Landon became the secretary for the Illuminating Engineering Society student chapter. Throughout his college career he has been involved with the Penn State Dance MaraTHON, the largest student run philanthropy in the world, as a committee member, captain and dancer.

Upon graduation, Landon will receive E.I.T. status and begin preparing for the LEED accreditation exam as well as the L.C. exam to become a licensed lighting designer.
