Biography

Adam Houck

Adam Houck is a 5th year Architectural Engineering Student at the Pennsylvania State University. He will graduate in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in Construction Management. During his first two years as an Architectural Engineering major Adam was a starter on the Penn State DuBois men's varsity basketball team. Adam is a member of a number of organizations, which include the Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (PACE) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

During the summers of 2007 and 2008, Adam spent his time gaining industry experience through internships with Hess Construction + Engineering Services in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and ISEC Incorporated in Jupiter, Florida. The experience gained through internships has given him a firsthand feel for managing and improving the construction process through communication with all members of the project team, to effectively deliver a variety of projects through understanding the construction process from design to completion. In October 2007 Adam passed the FE Exam and will gain EIT status upon graduating in May. Adams goals following graduation include working towards a project management role with a construction company, and eventually pursuing a business development role.

Outside of academics, Adam spends his time engaging in various sports which include basketball, golf, tennis, snowboarding, and surfing.

Following Graduation on May 15th from The Pennsylvania State University Adam will be moving to Jacksonville Florida to begin his career with Sauer Incorporated. Adam is engaged to be married on July 25th, 2009 to Erin Whitaker in DuBois Pennsylvania. Adam & Erin are currently in the process of closing on their first home in St. Augustine, Florida.
