AE 481W / 482

I believe that participating in the AE senior thesis program was a very valuable experience. While the first portion of the class was more structured, and help was more readily avaiable, it still prepared us for the second part of the course, where we made our own schedules and worked very independantly. The course helped me learn to better structure my time and stay on task and on schedule. I learned a lot throughout the year, from the technical aspects of electrical engineering, to the design aspect of lighting. Even though I only went through several part of building design, it made me amazed at how much coordination and work goes into just one completed building.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

Using the CPEP system throughout the thesis project was very helpful in keeping all assignments, submittals and other information for my thesis organized and available. It was also a great opportunity to learn a small amount about website design and effective communication through this media. The discussion boards were helpful if I had a specific question and needed the advice of someone in the field. It was also helpful to keep up with everything we needed to know about meeting times and due dates.

User Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work-in-progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretations of Anne Cheney. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumption, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
