AE 481W/482 Course Reflection:
Senior thesis was an excellent way to apply the theoretical studies of the classroom to a real world application. I was able to analyze an existing building’s systems and see how to apply national standards and regulations. These courses allowed me access to emerging computer software and countless publications to perform research and complete my studies. By requiring the need for two breadth areas of study, the courses allowed me to see and think about how changes to one system can easily affect another. These courses are a great benefit in preparing me for expectations outside school.
CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection:
With no experience creating web pages before, CPEP was a bit of a challenge for me. Not knowing how to use the computer software took some time to learn. Although I’m not at master at creating web pages, this part of the course did give me some experience which I do value. As part of the course, it does appear to be an effective way for checking and updating course progress while allowing others to access the work completed.
The discussion board is a very useful tool to guide students on studies and information that are not taught in the classroom. The discussion board allows access to experienced professionals who have the knowledge and resources to direct students. Although my experience with the discussion board was very limited, it did allow me a response that was useful in my reports.
