Daniel C. Myers

Daniel Myers is currently a 5th year Architectural Engineering Student at Penn State University. In May 2009, Daniel will graduate with a Bachelor and Masters of Architectural Engineering with a focus in structural systems. He has achieved EIT certification as of May 2008 and is pursuing LEED certification.

This past summer, Daniel completed an internship with Cannon Design, a renowned Architectural Firm specializing in high profile education and healthcare design. During those four months he was given the opportunity to work with many complex structural designs, both domestic and international, using a variety of current modeling and analysis programs. Daniel’s work experience also includes two summer internships with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and a summer internship with TimHaahs Engineers Architects, a highly progressive and innovative mixed use firm.

Outside of Engineering, Daniel is an active member of the U.S. Army Reserve and in 2005 successfully completed an honorable one year tour overseas. During that time he acquired the rank of sergeant and proved to be a valuable asset to his unit and the current Operation Iraqi Freedom mission. Daniel currently councils and assists students and members of the armed services preparing to deploy overseas.

Upon completion of his educational curriculum, Daniel looks forward to gaining the valuable experience required to become a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). He has been found to be technically competent and a tribute to the work environment. Daniel has accepted a job as a graduate level structural engineer with Smith Group in Detroit, MI and will begin training June 1, 2009.
