STUDENT BIOGRAPHY

Currently in his fifth year in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University, Daniele Navarrete hopes to graduate in Fall 2009 with an Integrated B.A.E/M.A.E. degree. Focusing on structural systems in buildings, Mr. Navarrete has applied his interest for the subject in classes as well as in student organizations such as the Student Society of Architectural Engineering (the student branch of the Architectural Engineering Institute) and the Structural Engineers Association.

Since Fall 2007 and into the Summer of 2008, Dan has worked for two of his professors and their graduate students in the research of various topics ranging from fiber-reinforced concrete, seismic design of polycarbonate curtain walls, to panelized brick veneer wall systems. The work at the structures laboratory has provided Dan with a more intimate understanding of concepts learned in the classroom, as well as with good general engineering and problem-solving skills. After passing the FE Exam October of 2007, Dan will gain EIT status upon graduating and hopefully work for a structural consulting firm—eventually obtaining a license as a Professional Engineer.
